Hi guys
I have a problem with my wheel and break set up at the moment, my 10" dunlop d1's don't fit over them and I can't put any spacers on them because when I put it on full lock it hits as I haven't widened out the arches

I have been suggested to go to a cooper s set up but it's proving quite costly and I don't want to go to 12" as it compromises my performance, any suggestions on what to do and has anyone come across this problem before?

I have mini speed 4 pot callipers and 7.9" vented disks

Also how does the performance of the cooper s setup compare to the mini speed one?

You can't just fit spacers as a magic cure for clearance problems, as they spoil the suspension geometry, particularly the scrub radius, which really can ruin the handling, as well as overstressing the wheel bearings. Spacers have to be chosen in conjunction with wheel offset, and should never be necessary if the wheel is for a Mini.

You may sometimes get away with spacers at the back, as they don't impair the handling, but the wheel bearing problem remains.
