It only has to be strong enough to push the plumger back into the clutch slave so that the release bearing isn't riding on the clutch face....I doubt it takes as strong a spring as the factory fitted (which is REALLY strong) but they musta had their reasons....

Last one of these I bought it didn’t seem much weaker than the clutch one, although I did wonder if I’d been sent the wrong one.

 

Yes mate. The one's I've been supplied have been like chalk & cheese compared to the stock (clutch) item. I think if they had that much pull, if it didn't break the carb casting, it would snap the cable in short time !

I'd say they sent you the wrong item !

 

I haven't tried the twin Carb Spring, just I feel they maybe just a little on the light side.
