Bought my first car in 1961. It was a Ford V8 Pilot. You'll have to 'google' that I expect. It was 3.6 litres V8.
For those who don't want to google here's one I saw earlier
This was my first car. It started life as a blue 1300 Bug. After learning to drive in it and then driving it through a hedge one night I cut the back and front off and drove it around like this for a couple of years. With the rust getting worse and plod pulling me nearly every week I finally sold it a got a Mk2 Cortina 1600E.

Inherited my first car from my mum in 1995. It was a 1960 maroon 2 door morris minor saloon registration 3036AD. It was a tank and completely inappropriate as a first car, but i loved it.
Sold it to an American chap who exported it.
