Mine has a K&N filter, branch manifold and straight through exhaust and it sounds lovely :)

Same, plus its cheap if you use the sportex lcb and central exit exhaust. You can get all the parts for less than £100 if you try.

110 pound and you can get some decent ear defenders :D

Cut the roof off, and remove most of the interior. The exhaust won't actually be any louder, but without the roof and rear seat to soak up the noise, it will seem it.....

Plus.....

You can probably get 30 quid for the roof and a liitle less perhaps for the rear seat.....

SO.... Louder and you've MADE money..... RESULT ;D

Removing the exhaust from the manifold ;)

Fantastic sound, no power but makes small children cry and old people moan, mine fell off whilst I was being a child and high up the rev range, 5000 revs, bang scrapy scrapy and a noise akin to a Hercules flying over.

I would like to add I refitted the exhaust as soon as I was home but the for the 10 minutes in getting home I had just cabletied it up and let rip :P

Does anyone have any cheap little ideas of how to make your Mini sounds now fruity and louder? I've heard Air Filters make a difference, but does anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks

Louder than what ?

Louder than your own aching desire to be accepted as normal ?

Buy a guitar.

If you want loudness, cheap, then drill some holes on your silencers.

MOT might be a problem.......

Or on your way to work this morning find out that your exhaust has snapped at the de-cat pipe, was the loudest thing I've ever heard haha.

lcb ,straight through exhaust and cherry bomb on the left ,cherry bomb on the right = oh yes :P dosnt sound much if any louder then the same set up with a rc40 just that you get that beefy burble on tick over :)

This. I opted for a big bore intake and exaust manifold with straight back exaust as well as two baffelers (though I think the second one might of been overkill). I think it's plenty loud enough and it has that nice low bubble Dex is talking about when it's at idle. I'm most likely redoing my set up though and sticking with one cherry bomb on the back, taking out the big bore system and opting for a smaller exaust diameter if I can get away with it.

You have to take backpressure into consideration though. Too much and you'll loose power in your top end, too little and you'll form a vortex. It's kind of like the difference between blowing air through a straw or a roll of toilet paper.
