i went to the welsh rally a few years ago  with the intention of camping but when i go there it was dark and also nowhere decent to put up tent so ended up sleeping in the mini in the car park. at the time i had my x reg cooper which the seats where nice and comfy, i slept in passenger seat with sleeping bag but couldnt get really comfy though. if the seat went back more it would have been better

I travel in mine a fair bit, and although I always carry a rent, I've set the mini up so it can be used for sleeping, for when its dark/there's bad weather/I can't be arsed to put the tent up....
Done it a few times, in the passenger seat, recline all the way back, in sleeping bag, leave window open a little, sorted! Not the most comfy in the world, but I sleep well enough and it sure beats putting a tent up in the howling wind and rain! :D

If a mini show is too far away to get there and back in a day, then I tend to stay in a Premier Inn, I wouldn't put up with the discomfort of sleeping in a tent, let alone in a mini!!

I did it once, drunk. (I was later informed if I was caught I could have been done for drink driving) Not doing it again, it was uncomfortable and I don't fancy the risk of points on my licence. Why I didn't sleep at my mates house, which I walked past, I will never know.

It's drunk in charge of a vehicle, which is slightly less of a charge. You can get done as soon as you open the door, even if you are just getting something out!

I have slept in a mini. All electrics went so I pulled over into a layby on the German motorway and slept in the drivers seat. The mini was loaded with stuff as I had been posted there and was on my first trip over with the mini. Fortunately I happened to have my quilt with me because January in Germany is bloody cold! That turned out to be rather a fateful journey and the last one it made. It then sat for ages and is now away being restored.

This is what you need for sleeping in at mini shows. (The 850 does struggle a bit towing up steep hills tho! O_O )

trailer tent these days for me, but have slept in the car on afew occassions.

Before IMM 2009, my friend broke down near wales in his mini. I went down in my volvo v40 estate, with a trailer and mini to swap over with his. I arrived at his campsite at 2am, so decided just to pull up and sleep in the car. passenger seat and reclined....woke up next morning with random people starring in my car at me...lol

I had a minor electrical issue 8 years ago on the M42, resulting in total ignition and headlamps failure.... Managed to get it to a services very late, in the rain. Then a loooong night on a non reclining seat. I am 6'2..... Needless to say I was up at 06:00 drying out the electrics and trying again!

I've slept in my minis a few times, most comfortable was my clubVan, I put the rear seats flat, and had my daughters old cot mattress in the back, I'm 6ft2 so I couldn't lay out flat, but I managed to get a decent nights sleep, unlike my mates who were in a tent, they were frozen and only managed like 2 hours sleep lol

Yeah dex2uk. He doesn't seem to be around here too much these days although he might be in the technical sections.

He made "La *******" (the car) and "La ******* 2" (the trailer). It looked exactly the same. Everything was removed from the interior, and the engine wheels and subframe etc. The rear lights all worked like a normal trailer. The front was welded up and the area where the engine went was converted to storage. The rest of the car had a bed in it. It was pretty cool. I think I might even have a picture somewhere, I will check.

No pictures, sorry.

I was at a party a few weeks ago and drank quite a lot to be honest, anyway I ended up sleeping across the front seats of Milligan.. With 2 other people also in the front.. Not the most comfortable nights sleep to say the least and a rather cold one too, but it was a laugh, and proof 3 people can sleep in the front of a mini. :L

My car has standard beige/sand coloured seats from 1980 when it rolled out the factory, no need for this bench seat stuff ;)
