hi this is the first time ive posted on here but im wondering if anyone can help?

i was driving down the M3 yesterday running really well so desided to put my foot down, but after a while my speedo needle started to drop even tho my foot hadnt moved, so i pulled of the m3 and turned my music down to hear that my car sounded like a bag of ****.

i thought it might me a hit lead that had broken so i left the engine running and took the ht leads off one at a time before replacing it and taking the next one off, when i removed first and fourth there was a change in the engine noice for the worst. however when i took second and third of the was no difference. i chcked to see there was a spark in these two cylinders and it all seemed to be ok.

please can some one help.

I'd say the head gasket's gone between cylinders 2 and 3!

positive connection (from car loom) is loose, try tightening that, if its a points dizzy, change the points and condensor.

Do a compression test, you can buy a test gauge for about £15!

Certainly sounds like a head gasket problem if you have good spark on all four plugs. Maybe valve clearance out on the two non firing cylinders. Don't see how that suddenly happening on two adjacent cylinders though.
