Good effort! Well done for passing his test! Van is looking good!

Also if you need a petrol cap I have one with a key in my pile of spares.

Yep, once it has some fuel in it!

Unfortunately it seems to have shrunk when I washed it.

Passed MOT!

Not pretty, but it's on the road, and it's mine!

Brands tomorrow for a pre L2B shakedown.

So 160 miles today on a car that's not been on the road for 3 years!

3.44 diff on 10's means about 5,000rpm at 70mph. Ouch!

Few little niggles to sort before L2B but nothing exciting. Diff swap will have to wait.

So L2B tomorrow.

Just a small list of things to sort!

Fit bigger wing mirrors
Add coolant
Change oil and filter
Fit rest door straps
Sound deadening
Earth fuel tank
Door cards
Heater tap

..... And a few other bits I will no doubt find.

Better crack on!

Cracking day out yesterday, with a few mini friends!

Not sure the bloke at Brighton when I parked up appreciated the time and effort that had gone into getting this one back on the road after a 4 year lay up. His words were something along the lines of "you can even see the weld" when he pointed at the sides.

No major incidents (well, the indicators stopped working, but a quick swap of the relays fixed that) and only bought a relay and new door seals.

Just gutted my 17 year old lad left me for dust on the M23 on the way home when I told him to crack on :-)  Will change the diff one day.

So soundproofing is probably next on the to do list.

Happy days

Mike

My fault for not having time to change the 3.44 diff, and it's running on 10's so screaming along at 5,000rpm!

He's on a 3.1 diff on 12's, so cruises at a fair pace at 4,000rpm.

2nd gear is a bit crunchy, so will tackle diff and that one weekend soon.

Too right! I could have mot'd it then stuck it in the body shop for a few weeks, but would rather be using it all summer (well, if we get one!) and do a few events and more importantly sort out any niggles. Paintwork can wait till it's cold and dark.

And the 5 mikes to work in the morning is so much more fun!
