I put a very small bore bumper overrider rubber edge around the moustache and grille as I was terrified that the sharp edges would cut into the paint, so far only one person who has spotted it and he restoring a woody for a customer and is going to do the same to his. 

He used small threaded clips for the moustache ends and secured them with small nuts on the rear which I thought was a good idea.

By the way your car looks absolutely Fantastic Spike.

Thanks for that Vic ! I've managed to fit them without doing any damage as luck would have it my wife has steady hands :-) still a long way to go yet and hope it turns out as good as yours .

Small amount of progress in one hand but a missive milestone in the other I've managed to get the rear door rubbers to fit right so I can close the doors :-)

Also have a 1961 woody traveller, grew up with it & my first car. Been in family since 1962.....all original, now being restored with mostly original parts. Lots of hard work ahead!

Nothing happening until the end of March as I'm having the wood Taylor made so all the wood grain matches each side. Then I'll be flat out getting it ready for the summer shows :-)

Just picked up your restoration .  Amazing job your doing .  I know  Wayne that owns the red beetle that your paint man painted stunning car and won at the NEC  

 

Look forward to seeing your car in the flesh and meeting up

Wayne is a great guy , At one point he was very close to buying my MK Cooper ( STG 95F) . As he wanted a Mini
