Well nice to see that at least one of them is still around. :)
You have to laugh at some of the bodges they did in the early shows. My favourite bodging fail they did has to be the capri, it needed two new front wings so the bought some non original parts bodged them into place with a hammer and grinder, then sprayed them poorly with rattle cans resulting in a completely different and very uneven colour, had to laugh a bit

The workshop must be a set that they take around with them especially as half of the last season cars were from the us or east Europe
There was a mini moke episode as well. Anyone know where that is?

It really is a tragic show but strangely watchable if only for the cars.
Brewer tries to act the Arfur Daly / Cheeky Cockney Geezer, really quite sad.
We need more "A car is born / reborn" type programmes with decent quality motors being turned out at the end.

Yea we do need more out and out classic car shows like this.
Okay if you like the illusion of wheeler dealers having success, don't read the rest of this post
1st heart breaker, Edd and Mike only do a small portion of the work, they do a little in front of the cameras then 2 others do the rest of the work (ie if a balljoint is needed on each corner, Edd will do one, then 2 other mechanics do the rest)
2nd, the pricing on the latest series prices are basically made up. The TVR cerbera they did had its chassis done at a local TVR specialist whom my dad knows and he said its about double what they said it was on TV to get a new chassis for one
Probably not the biggest shockers ever, and if your watching it as a factual project show... sorry for bursting the bubble. I love it to see the nice old cars being restored and/or modified and find it al very interesting to see different cars mechanicals, but you cant take the pricing seriously

I love/hate the way they completely ignore any labour of Eds when totting up the figures at the end, yet insist on telling you how much stuff costs to have done at a garage!!!
The show is aimed at DIY mechanics, showing them how they can do up cars in their spare time and maybe sell them for a profit. That is why they never include Ed's labour cost, and always much such a big thing about how much he has saved by doing the job himself, rather than taking it to a garage.

The closest Mark Evans got was building 3 Italian Job style Mini's for a 1 hour tv programme called 'Dream Machines' a few years back (2003)........have a dvd recording of it somewhere.

Mark Evans stripped down and restored 3 tatty Rover Mini Coopers into Red, White & Blue Italian Job lookalikes in the TV series "Dream Machines" in 2003. I have a copy of the programme on DVD recorded off Ch5 at the time. The registrations of 2 of the cars were H753 CAP and J467 VDF, all 3 were given away to one phone in prize winner at the end of the show.

This was his reply to an email asking if he had thought about doing 'A Mini is Born' back in 2008:
Thanks for your email.
More than thought about it - proposed a series to Discovery as a tribute to it.
But, see my note below.
All the best,
MARK
"I have received loads of emails from fans of my Is Born shows asking what's next. Sadly, Discovery Real Time have said that its audience isn't after my kind of workshop series any more, so there are no new projects on the horizon. Really sorry. I would love to do more.
If that bothers you, a few suggestions. You can contact Discovery Real Time via the viewer feedback part of its website to let them know what you want to watch.
Or, you could post a message at one of Discovery's forums.
You could also leave a message at the fan page that someone has just started on Facebook under my name."

Typical world we live in now, needs to be more like towie i suppose, there probably wasnt enough drama and arguing going on, if he kept kicking off swearing at the crew or pretending to have massive disasters like fires or broken windscreens he would have a show every week
Shame
