i was in a restaurant on Fowey quay last night (working) we had waves going over a 4ft sea wall on top of the quay and smash a wooden door down

the wave then went through the restaurants back yard , pushed open the back door, went through the kitchen , then through the dinning room and out the front door

the water in the building was just under welly height

high tide should of been 5:30 but the wind held the water up till around 9pm

Our beach is 1km long. At one end there were some quite hefty stainless steel railings which have mostly disappeared

In the middle a swathe has been stripped of the large pebbles which usually absorb some of the sea's energy.

A lot were chucked over the sea wall. This part of the beach is now about 1.5metres lower and largely coarse sand.

Conversely, at the other end of the beach the concrete walkway is buried under pebbles swept along by the storms along with debris.

We also counted three dead guillemots, but many more birds have been washed up at Chesil Beach in Dorset :(

Hard to believe that on Friday you could hardly stand up in the wind here and certainly couldn't see more than  a few hundred feet.

I'm sorry that guy at 0.55 that you mention. An idiot if ever there was one. Its not like he is in a big 4x4. The funny bit is the anger when he hits the steering wheel! Trying to drive through that has probably just ruined his car. And unless he and any passengers get out of the window, the car will get flooded as soon as he opens the door anyway!

On a serious note, the AA have already warned about people trying to sell flood damaged cars rather than trying to claim on the insurance. Something to be aware of if you you are planning on buying a car anytime soon.
