What a disaster!!! My mate whos spraying the car just rang me up and hes just said the shell is fubar, he said it will cost alot to put right. I am not a happy bunny right now need some help and/or advice on what to do

Do I sell and hope someone has got the time and money to put right?

Do I cut my losses and find a better shell

Or do I just sell the whole lot

I am really sad because I put alot of time and money into the shell, it might be crap but its my crap..........

Matt

Fubar isn't exactly a technical term. What exactly is wrong with it?

Yours was the last post before the site went down!! I blame you!!!

My advice would be to find out exactly how much it will cost you and then weight up your options.

I completely understand that shes 'your crap' - its cute!

Work out how much repairs will cost, then how much a decent shell would be plus the cost of transferring everything across, it here will also be the cost of components that whilst Ok now, will need replacing because they break whilst dismantling or are a sensible thing to renew during the process. It is only then that you can review your options.

If it's twisted you have problems!

But you need to ensure the shell you buy is better than the one you've got!

Also, you can't legally transfer the identity from your mini to a second hand shell

The car is just a shell at the moment he has had it 16 months and only just looked at it yesterday, im not sure how much exactly its going to cost to sort out, but I had a budget and he said it will be way over it so. I thought about selling up and starting again

Would the twisted shell be worth anyone taking it on?

Not unless they could jig it themselves. I would've thought it wouldn't be economically viable!

Why has he had it 18 months and not done anything with it, how has it become twisted, and how does he know it's twisted?
