It's a mini 998 that pushing around 65-70 bhp
It's still burning oil and the oil is going black 2 weeks after a oil and filter change
I've been told because it's not standard it will burn oil but how much is my question
Oil pressure is perfect sits at 3/4 of the gauge when driving and no loss in performance
There is no smoke, smell of or signs of oil
The engine has been set up and tuned on a rolling road
It isn't running too rich just wanting some advice
It's not going through oil rapidly but after London to Brighton the weekend it was just above minimum it was aprox about half way between when I left home (done around 500miles)
Been told it could burn oil upto 6000 mile

If its loosing oil then if its not leaking then its being burnt, odd its going black so quick? what oil are you using. If its built correctly and the clearances are ok then IMO I would not expect it to burn more oil than a std engine. The A series due to its design will always burn a little drop and over 500miles its not using that much by all accounts.

I am using valvoline 20v50 as told by the builders as they do racing engines and it's what they use
it's a lovely to drive no problems, no smoke and can't smell a thing when following it
I know all minis will burn and leak little just worried as I've forked out how ever much on the build lol

If the oil is going black after 2 weeks this probably suggests that it is being contaminated. Did the rolling road test for hydrocarbon content? Maybe this will come up in your next mot Was the engine run in properly?

The hydro carbons don't come into play cause of the age of the mini
As afar as I know it was run in properly
They did 100 mile in it for me and they ran the cam in at like 2000rpm for like 15 mins
I did 1000mile not going above 4500rpm

The "not standard" bit has no bearing - it's how the engine has been built -
I'd wait a while yet and see how it settles in. I wouldn't worry about dirty oil to start with during run-in.
