It's not a fuse box, just loose floating about (and we wonder why the Japanese car industry took off!).
Some cars have them up behind the clocks inside instead, if not someone has been messing around I'd say.

Check right up under the scuttle panel, they can be tethered to the panel and not visible.

Ive looked everywhere now, under the scuttle, all in the engine bay, under passenger dash, under driver dash, all around the steering wheel, everywhere.

I can not find these fuses anywhere.

So its off to the garage next week i think. :(

Hi people.

sorry ive been a little quiet as of late, been busy at work and just not had time to check things out and update.

my hazards and fog light is still a non functioning status. my indicators are working and so is the interior light.

the fact the indicators work, leads me to believe from research, that my flasher unit must be fine.

both hazards and fog light not working im thinking could it be a bad earth connection?

im going to have a look around tonight see if that sheds any light.

im also going to take some pictures of my engine bay, im pretty sure its had some bodged efforts done where wiring is concerned. im also going to take some photos of the wires by my steering column, as I have no idea whats going on down there.

ill post them up and hope someone can help me out.

ive been reading up and im hoping I get this whole thing sorted by the weekend.

in other news I managed to fix my horn.

minor I know, but its the first thing ive fixed by myself. I have zero experience fixing things on cars so to me it was a step in the right direction.

ive also spotted an oil leak now, I think its coming from my sump, im guessing that means its cracked somewhere?

people were not joking when they said id learn mechanical car care when I buy a mini.

not a very good update for you guys but im trying, im determined to sort this bloody hazards issue out.

it doesn't help I don't really know what im looking at, so its probably screaming in my face.

ive been reading up about people swapping fuse boxes over to bladed fuse boxes from Halfords and this helps solve problems. it may as well be Chinese for the good it does me reading it, just wondering is this something I should look into a bit more?

dom.

Thanks kernow,

Ill use this when I'm looking. I need to take some photos i think as im confident my wiring is different to every document ive seen. I just need to get my head round all the colours and where they all go etc.

I don't want to take it to a garage and them charge me a fortune to fix loads of dodgy wiring.

BS wiring colours is in the FAQS here http://www.theminifo...ng-codecolours/

This will help identify what wire is going to what circuit.

The fact the indicators work doesn't mean the hazard flasher is working, the mini has two flasher units, one under the dashboard that's for the indicators and one on the right hand side of the bulkhead to the right of the air filter that works the hazards, that is what I would change first personally as its cheap enough and if it doesn't fix it then you have a spare (which is worth having as they aren't the best quality)

Oh, well this info changes my theory yet again. Right, new hazard flasher unit, check hazards.

Would this stop my fog light working?

Im so bored of this problem, my massive lack of knowledge and newness to this isn't helping me either i don't think.

I'm going to do what I said. Take photos of the bits inside the engine bay and by my steering column, so people can tell me if its right infront of my face.

Thanks as always.

Dom.

Try emery on the contacts of the flasher unit before ordering a new one...

You could also try the test I mentioned before where you swap the indicator and hazard relays to see if the hazards work and the indicators stop working, that will show you if the flasher is broken (just swap it back so you have functioning indicators) and no not linked to the fog light
