Mmmm....just grabbed another beer.

From the otherside of the world, you guys bang heads with the bedt of them.

But its not very classy. In 4 pages I have seen a simple " The service from ******** was really good" degenerate into, shall I say, something ugly & pathetic....

Hope the rest of the forum does not get this ugly.

I think a few of you need to step back and realise that your comments are probably not in the best interest of anyone, yourself included.

Not personal or aimed at us? Try being on the receiving end of all of the stuff you've posted about us. Every hint of complaint about TMF and you're on it to add your opinion. Yeah, you're right, we shouldn't take it personally. It's just somebody repeatedly criticising all of the work, time, effort and finance we put into this forum and we get bugger all back other than your complaints and you suggesting we shouldn't even be allowed to express an opinion.
You know what, this really is the final straw for me. I'm done!

Consistancy is the way forward.

I too have had professional and spelling critisim from a TMF Mod over MS previously.!

I took it on my broad shoulders - it is a Forum not life.

Matt this could be viewed as inflamitory - "I'm sure you'll be able to turn it into one....again."

You cant run with the fox and hunt with the hounds!!!!
don't come the rubbish. You know full well what happened but are more than happy to play the victim. You were stating that no one should make mistakes but made them yourself. The point that was made was that no one is perfect. And you didn't take it on broad shoulders, you twisted it and used it whilst being offensive about various peoples professions.

And for the record one last time, if preventing racist comments is seen as 'over zealous' then count me as being proud to be over zealous and in continuing to prevent racist comments on the forum I will continue to be 'over zealous'.

Clive - I had a message that you were not going to comment on this again?

FYI I recieved numerous supporting PM's over how you handled the previous post and other post that were accusing you of being very pushy unpolite and acting above your position. I am not afraid to put my head up to ask questions and defend myself when others act in what I believe to be out of order or pushy.

Why dont you post up the original MS post so people can judge for themselves.

My beef is not with MS or most of the mods eitherbut  just the constant back patting and defending by the TMF team that has raised suspicion .

Is the direction to comment on a subject if you are involved (a rule imposed in previous post by the mods)now superceeded.

Thanks for the resumme Matt, I have been here long enough to be fully aware of all the history. I should even imagine that previous experiences with Mods going to court , allogations of TVR's and big houses with swimming pools etc would allow us to question the team.

OK, I am intrigued as to the history of these allegations. I'd like you to quantify exavtly what you're saying here, because I'm just baffled as to whether you believe what you're writing.

Mods going to court?

Big houses with swimming pools?

The TVR thing was laughable enough at the time, but wow, you just took slanderous (or is it libellous) allegations to a whoooole new level!!!

Where on Earth do you think this is going to go, Ian? You can't just make stuff like that up about people!

So essentially what you are saying is that other members do not have the right of reply when you make up things/ insinuate/ exaggerate and quite blatantly twist the facts? That mods should not act on complaints from members simply because that complaint is about you? I too had a lot of PMs in support, perhaps we can compare scrapbooks one day?

I will not comment further as I don't need to. Your arrogance has said more than enough already.

Libel is to damage a reputation via printed or 'fixed' word. Slander is to damage a reputation via any medium, spoken, written, etc. Both are done by presenting opinion as fact. To take someone to court over such a thing will give you a 6 figure legal bill, hence why such actions aren't that common in the grand scheme of things.

Unfortunately this topic just highlights why myself and a number of good people I know/knew no longer get too involved in the Mini scene. So much pedantry, bitchiness and downright lies. Why people couldn't allow the OP to thank MiniSpares on a public forum without some snide little remarks I'll never know. Why it then had to degrade further into some petty argument about the forum staff and previous lies and tall tales just makes me despair.

Anyway. I used to use MiniSpares a lot, always had great service from them. Unfortunately they don't do many TVR parts. :( But keep up with the TMF+ subscriptions, I'll probably need a new AJP8 engine soon.

I lived in Dubai and now the States, and I've had things (lots of things) delivered from Mini Spares. I really like them. I like the support, the quick shipping, the inventory, the way they provide information about the status of your order, and the technical info they can give (and freely do) with a call or email. I wish they were here in the US so I could pay less for shipping!

This is an opinion from a former MINI parts/installation business owner. They do it right.

Carry on...

To the op - I'm glad you were pleased with the device you received - if only all businesses provided the same level of service!

Well said.

I did not have an oil warning light as the PO had removed the switch and fitted an adaptor for an oil pressure gauge. I bought the required switch, adaptor and "T" piece from Mini Spares and set about fitting them, having fitted everything the warning light still did not work, so following diagnostics it appeared to be the switch. Contacted Simon at Mini Spares and he immediately said he would send a replacement switch..... no quibbles, no request to send the original back for checking. Replacement fitted and everything working. So it's time to say a big thank you for an excellent service, it's good to deal with a company with good ethics and after sales service. Thanks one again from a very satisfied customer.

My first choice too. I was going to start a thread but it'll probably go the same way as this one i.e. down the pan so to keep all the c**p in one place I'll post it here.

T'other day I bit the bullet and bought a new rear door for the estate.  When it arrived we found that DHL had been playing basketball with it and a corner was bent, I emailed some pics to Simon and he emailed back within 5 minutes asking if they could go about an exchange.  As it was booked into the paint shop I said it would have to be quick.  Five minutes later some chap from MS rang me to say I would have a replacement door today.  I got it this morning, 19 hours later.  That is proper service, no matter what the naysayers want to spout.

I am a big fan of minispares.

For TVR parts I would call Jason at STR8SIX.

Big houses with swimming pools?

Where on Earth do you think this is going to go, Ian? You can't just make stuff like that up about people!

These allegation were not made by me or did I get involved in the threads(too much), but I was refering to past events that were started

The house and the TVR one were one of the same - which was always tongue in cheek and the in joke with everyone at one time.- and to be honest fair play, who wouldn't if it was anymore than a joke.

The Mod going to court was a good few years ago now, A chap selling stuff and never sending it out. I think he was from goucestershire or simular? In fact I am not sure he was a mod at the time but certainly was at one time.? Someone remind me of the name. If I an mistaken then i shall hold my hands up and put things straight.

Not really the point I was trying to make to be honest - just the point of the right to ask questions.

I am not and never wanted to critise the time and effort put in by anyone, all I wanted to discuss was the balanced view and approach by everyone and I have to agree it has gone completely out of hand, My rant is probably about still feeling agrevied about the previous post and the over the top way genuine concerns and opinions were attacked and picked at not only aimed at me but what appeared to be other genuine constuctive debait.

I dont see any value in me continuing to comment on this thread or others that are simular in an attempt to point out genuine concerns and queries.I have been twisted out of character over this and have slumped to down right tittle tattle.

Sorry to any friends and fellow enthuiasts that I may have upset.

Peace all x
