Only problem with a Y piece and why is not used is if one carb is slightly  ahead/behind of the first it would cause all sorts of issues with inconsistent vacuum one carb is ok

The sun was out , so I angled the manifold to light it up by the sun....hehe...

Il get some pictures of the butterflies and pistons for you

Excuse the parts..... They need a good clean....:0)... The piston is shaped to aid flow from airfilter end... When piston is fully at the top only this bit is visible ..... It's just to get rid of the sharp edge .... Again the butterfly shaft is done for the same reason, but I've not got round to knife edging the butterfly as of yet again this is done to get rid of the blunt edge of the butterfly so it cuts through the airflow I'm led to believe
