I was a member of TMF+ for years. I only stopped when I stopped using the forum less and because I lost my job. Or are we less valuable because our names are in blue and not in yellow?
And it takes members that post in these topics to keep the forum going, not the money from TMF+ surely? Or in which case, if we're that dependant on the money from TMF+ to afford our bandwidth, can we see a breakdown of where the TMF+ money goes each month? Or shall we leave it there?

It's just people I guess, it's pathetic. Put somebody in a position of power and they abuse it, end of. Be it work, a hobby, a forum or anything... seriously guys, look at yourselves.
I'm outta here *waves*

Craig, don't even consider making ANY suggestions about TMF finances. There's nowhere to go with it at all. It goes to paying server fees, some goes to charity, some buys stand equipment, that's IT.

And no that isn't me accusing anybody of TMF+ money going astray or anything similar. I was just saying, don't play the 'at least contribute by buying our cheap basic membership and keep the forum going' card, because we all know without TMF+ this place would still exist. It existed for years before.
I'll look forward to the PM, if you could print screen the offending posts that'd be great too.
Cheers! xx

Or, you could see it from another point of view.
There were, what, 10 regular posters in there? Out of a forum full of other posts and threads. A month ago, you were saying it was dead. Some of the people that post in there are saying it's the only thread they post in, ever, and that they'll leave TMF now it's gone. How's that contributing to the community? I mean, one thread, with pictures of goats, some random homophobia, one word replies and when someone like me joins in I'm told to leave the thread? I mean, yeah, that's a real sense of community that, tell the people that are giving up their time to help run the forum to leave a thread because it's the only fun place that's left!

Everybody was invited to join in, nobody was ever excluded. Some people took it the wrong way when you came in and said what you did, if you didn't have an admin badge on it wouldn't have happened, but I guess that's the stigma attached to being admin or a moderator, that you're a nazi or whatever people call it. The same way when people become celebrities they kinda make a decision to allow their privacy to be invaded, it's part of the package.
Find me a post that excluded ANYBODY from that thread?

Mate, reread that as I hope it's not your way of thinking. You aren't the first to say that the VOLUNTEERS on here in some way deserve abuse. Is that really the way it is? I offered to help to benefit everyone, as I am sure all the other mods/ admin did. Why some people think that means we are lesser members and open to whatever they wish to hurl at us is beyond me. A sad reflection of modern society that makes me wonder why I bother.Everybody was invited to join in, nobody was ever excluded. Just been to asda, cheese and tomato sannies for 10p reduced, BARGAIN!
I've met enough people on here to see beyond a member title, beyond a group and beyond all of that, I know Matt well, hes a top bloke, all of the admin on here are, the ones I've met I knew long before they were admin, people like James and Charlie who were on here years ago, I went to shows with them, camped with them, got drunk with them before they gained any member title. I'm actual friends with people outside of this forum, this is just an easy way to keep everything in one place and stay in touch with people that I can't otherwise... I don't care if you're admin or banned altogether, if you know me and I know you, we probably get on...
I just don't think it's the right way to go about it. No warning or anything like that, just a thread disappearing, and then it takes somebody to create a topic to find out where it went... At the end of the day, It all depends on how certain people perceive text on a page. Some people saw certain posts as a total joke, to others they read it in the wrong context and saw an admin posting a rant about gay being used a derogatory term... I saw that as one bloke saying to enough bloke 'really? is still a playground?', the other members involved saw it as admin coming in and slaying the thread.
As I say I didn't use the thread enough to care, but you have to treat people with respect if you want them to understand. Were any warnings issued regarding the posts that lead to the topics closure? Or were any PM's sent to anybody? when a thread disappears you alienate us and you don't tell us anything, you don't tell us which posts offended, who we offended, you protect people as though it's some kind of witness protection... frankly, I think it's pathetic, theres a world out there and people are sitting behind a keyboard acting like children. But I guess that's how the world is, theres always the few people that pick at straws and create issues out of nothing... at the end of it all, does anything really matter? to me it doesnt, I just come on here because it's fun. Maybe I don't take the place serious enough, that's a reoccurring problem in my life, maybe you guys are totally right, of course there has to be some order and rules, but doesn't it ruin things a bit when adults that make their own decisions are punished for having a laugh with eachother?

Sadly mate if you do try to explain then you get slated for it. Trust me, I tried to do exactly what you suggested a while back and the abuse I got was unreal. Far from people accepting that we were trying to show the reasoning behind a decision they used it to twist the facts and continue the argument, and some still are months later. So the sad reality is that it's easier just to to do it the way it has been done. Don't think its done on a whim though, it's discussed at length and a decision made. On this occasion it was the constant avoidance of the swear filter and the homophobic comments that tipped the scales. I really don't want to discuss this decision further for the reasons listed above, but I hope that helps you to understand the process better.Just been to asda, cheese and tomato sannies for 10p reduced, BARGAIN!

By any chance were the top 10 posters in the thread under 25?
