I find this term hugely offensive. Mongolism, (now called downs syndrome) being used as a term of abuse in exactly the same way Matt challenged homophobic posts in the JK thread.

JK thread is epic. Made me laugh and wouldn't like to think how many hours I have spent on it. 

 

It is a group of people that are mini folk and we were minding our own business in the back corner of the forum. Pretty much all of the content was harmless fun. Whats wrong with a picture of a goat?   You goata be joking?

 

Even our own Bean is a regular contributor..!

 

I certainly use the rest of the forum (mainly for reading these days). Bring it back!

If you knew what I've done in my life to support almost entirely down syndrome based charities you'd let that one go.

right time to get political on their ass (mind the spelling im illiterate)

 

1: Contribution: so with this do you mean money or posting on other pages? as ive been on this forum since 2009 and stick mainly to the jk thread nowadays as several of my mates post in there and we have a laugh a b17c# and a moan in there as was said in the corner out the way, now to contribute i have been on club stands,paid money into a pot pre tmf+ days and been a tmf+ member before, if its other posts check the problems section as ive been in there many a time offering advice (owning minis since i was 8 has taught me a thing or 2) and to top that have travelled once over 130 miles to help a fellow member of tmf out when the car broke and regually travelled to others local to help with wor and fix cars, aswell as that i regually travel up and down the country racing rc cars and transport parts from 1 member to another for free just to be helpful (in august im taking a few bits from kings lynn to cornwall!) yet i spose all this isnt contributing to a community,

 

2: Homophobic: if your classing this as me saying "thats gay" then you really need to grow up, its a banterous comment not a dig, if i went off on a homophobic rant i'd be saying things like "adam and eve not adam and steve" etc etc yet i didnt, i regually say "thats jewish" too, i mean nothing against jews its just better than swearing, i do not consider myself a racist or a homophobe its just a small joke that in theory upsets no one (except tmf admin it'd seem!) if i was truly homophobic would i talk to, hug and camp/party with craig at shows?

 

3: memes: we do post random memes from time to time but thats to brighten the day, again we kept to that thread with them so eg when a llama popped up we laughed, the cheese ones (and infact the cheese in general) is a very long running tmf legend, no one knows where it came from, it just exists,

 

4: swearing: whilst we kept the swearing to a minimum the odd word did slip through (normally on the memes but nothing i havent heard 6 year olds use) and 9 times outta 10 the mods would tell us to remove that one post which we did without an argument, 

 

5: Outcasts: we never stopped anyone from posting in there,we nearly always spoke to anyone new in the hope to meet more like minded enthusiasts that were up for the laugh, we did take the mick and i did even make a meme about the ones that just used to post "as if i thought this thread was about jeremy kyle" but if you make a comment like that you have to expect some stick back, how ever we never told them "get out our thread" from what i can remember (was over 2100 pages)

 

6: under 25: whilst most of us that posted are under 25 i dont think bean, broomer were and i know for a fact toyboy isnt 9only in the mind) but so what? are a group of lads around the same age not allowed to chat together with out it being a homophobic swearing meme posting bulling gang these days??

 

i look forward to your response and your argument against my valid points,

Evidently lots of admin and moderator chatting going on in the background here. Seems I'm doing more bad for my reputation than good tonight so I'm gonna hit the hey. I'm not a bad guy but think what you like What's said on a Mini forum amongst 'friends' doesn't really represent a lot. 

 

If moderators want to lose the stigma attached to being 'different' to a member then some of you need to get your heads out of your asses and realise you're just members too.

House of commons just a bunch on people slagging each other off in the hope of getting someone to like them enough to vote for them. I'd like to think we raise the bar a bit higher that that on TMF, despite our differences of opinions and outlook.

 

Never mind bring back JK thread, bring back Fosters Fridays, those were much happier days.
