I'm not sure that filling box sections with foam will reduce noise.

There are some really good threads on noise reduction

Thanks for the detailed reply, Mab, that was very interesting.

 

I read somewhere online that it could be used as sound deadening as you're closing up a box which could in effect be an amplifier to noise. 

 

I've already planned how I'm doing the sound deadening/proofing, I just thought this might be a cheap, easy, and lightweight way of quietening it a little more. 

 

As I thought though, it's a no go.
