It's been a big week for the Clubby. I went to visit ML Motorsport last weekend and it was incredible to see how far it's come.. from the bare shell and million bits I brought home 7 years ago to a near complete car.
The big news yesterday was that the engine was started for the first time since 2011 and was running well. Today, it turned its wheels under its own power and drove out of the garage.
It's not completed just yet, but feels close now - hopefully I'll have my first drive of a Mini (yep, never driven one!) soon.
Photos to follow.

Thanks both.
It's got a couple of small jobs left but hopefully off for its MOT very soon. I've changed the V5C to Historic and insured it, ready for it coming home.
Can't wait to drive it

I collected it yesterday from ML Motorsport and have to say that they did a fantastic job. Put together faster than I thought was possible, kept me appraised throughout with progress and documented everything done comprehensively. On top of all of that, a top guy and a pleasure to deal with.
I took it for a quick run around the yard and was grinning from ear to ear - it took about two seconds to realise why everyone loves these little cars so much! The journey home for me meant driving round the M25 motorway - not it's natural home but it did well and was faultless. The engine sounds great and pulls really well, plenty of torque and my fears of hills were unfounded. Hilarious how fast low speeds feels.
It's now filthy so first job is to give it a proper clean and will take some more photos after that.
Finally, shout out to Surrey Auto Works who did the body and paint 5 years ago. It still looks great - my biggest fear with the project was it rotting before even getting it back together, but thankfully that has not happened.

Here's the photo dump now I've had the chance to give it a quick wash.
I need to finish the interior now. Only other small thing is that the seam covered were sprayed but the match to the GR4 paint was off so the guy has offered to redo. Not sure how bothered I am though..

By way of an excellent punctuation of the end of this phase in the Clubby's life - I got a feature in the June issue of Mini Magazine :)
