Looking good mate, nowt better than driving a car you've rebuilt yourself.

Will you have it ready for next spring?

Thanks Jimmy. I'd like to think so, but have said that many times before :)

Hi folks,

I've managed to lose the spring that attaches to the seat tilt rod mechanism.  Does anyone know if they can be bought anywhere, or have one knocking about that they'd sell? Edit: measured up and bought a generic one which will hopefully do the trick.

Thanks

So, I bought the Clubby as a project 7+ years ago.  "It won't be one of those projects that sits in the garage unfinished".  Well, it was - and I got to the point of being gutted to not get it done and feeling frustrated every time I went in the garage.  So, I decided it was time to get some help.  So, yesterday I hired a (massive!) trailer and took her down to ML Motorsports for them to work their magic and help me get it on the road.

Nowt wrong with asking for help, I'm sure if I didn't have r kid pushing me along mine would be nowhere near finished. When do you think you'll have it back?

Cheers dude. Hopefully a couple of months which suits me fine - need the time to sort the garage ready for its return 🙂

Time for an update.. ML Motorsports have been making amazing progress on the Clubby and it is edging closer to being back on the road.

Windscreen is in and parts starting to go back on.  I had to buy another front loom as the one I bought (on advice) was for an early Clubman and mine is a bit of a cross-over year.  So, bought the right one which is now in

Brake and fuel lines run - all looking nice and clean underneath

Rear bumper in place

Front bumper and lights..

And the most exciting update so far for me - for the first time in 9 years, the engine is back in the car :). New master cylinders fitted.

Properly excited about this now.

Looking great - nice colour.

Needs a proper clubman rear bumper though.

And you can buy these new now, right? I think MiniSpares is reproducing them?

Yes, and even in the sale at the moment.

The rear has always been a little easier to get as it was used on a few special editions (front and rear).

Thanks all

Yes, Tweed Grey with Old English White roof.

The original Clubman bumper was badly mangled so this was a good, used non Clubby one just to get it on the road. Will check out options.

Engine due to be started soon (for first time since 2011) so keeping everything crossed at the moment!
