Busy day in the office........

It was interesting too today to unearth the Vin plate in the engine bay. Hidden among the dodgy cheap alarms and horrendous botched wiring i found a paint code NMF - Arum White. Im now in 2 minds as to what colour i fancy. revert to original, go nuts an retain the crazy yellow or just throw down a colour i fancy, maybe yukon grey.

Discuss....

Looks pretty sounds underneath.

If i am honest, i don't like the idea of painting it yellow but then again, it is your choice.

I think a nice summer colour like a pale blue or turquoise perhaps?

Ben

I think whatever colour you fancy. I like when A mini has been restored and the owner has put there twist on it.

I took a few today of the soft top and lining for when i come to replace so there may be a suitable picture there but that car itself is stored on the farm.

By the way, dashboard is brilliant. If you planning to put a different in, then let me know, I'm ready to buy this one. ;)

Hi again all, so its been a quiet-ish period. Being in the Military I've been away a lot. I have however managed to squeeze in enough time for a few days work.

IMG_1149.jpg

got door steps and sills replaced

IMG_1157.jpg

Also a small repair......

I moved on this morning to the rain channel/gutter. They were badly corroded and I've been dreading this. 2 options, source a replacement roof and mix and match some sections or take the plunge. Ive always wanted to try de seeming my mini so what better time :)

Slow progress but including doing some ongoing repairs its looking good. Cant wait to lead the joints and have a good look.

A small question to the forum. What are views on brazing panel gaps between scuttle/wing and in the front panel. I want to lead them but lead is expensive. I can however easily get my hands on brazing rods. Do you think it'd have the same effect, not crack but also be paintable over??

thanks

So a couple of day off have led to some more work on the mini. Majority of my time is being spent with the de-seaming, leading the the joints and some filling! laborious but I'm happy with the outcome so far. Still plenty of fill, sand, fill, sand, fill, sand until ill be really happy however!!

A nice little delivery too arrived last week, finally got around to erecting it today, a 6x3 m gazebo. This from now on will become my spray booth when the time comes around (hopefully just after xmas). For £50 I'm over the moon, hopefully will do the trick.

Has anyone used a gazebo to spray in before? I have a valour cad heater which i shall pre warm with and also a large fan that ill use to suck out what fumes are about. All this combined with a wet floor and some pukka lighting should lead to a good job...... Im hoping :)

I have painted cars under a Gazebo before with good results

That paint job was done with an Earlex spray station and was a full respray after i repaired heavy front end damage.

Not too bad for a cheap DIY job
