Hello Everyone, after a lot of time, effort and money my Special s now just about finished.

It was previously owned by Paul Jeffries ( Oltonlad) who a lot of you will know and it's had a full restoration over the last few months.

It made its "debut" at Uttoxeter on Sunday - I'd be interested to know what you think of it.
Thanks

Very nice. The 1100 special in silver is probably my favorite factory mini. That looks superb. Want to swap for a mini Tahiti and a bag of crisps ;) ?

Very smart! Are the wheels standard? How many of these where there?

Yes the wheels are standard (Exactons) , I've had them refurbished though and they did a really excellent job. Shame to put rubber on them to be honest.

There were 5200 Specials produced across the 2 colours though there were more Rose than Silver. The consensus is that there are less than 20 Silver ones still around ( would be really interesting to know though)

I would stretch to a large bag of kettle chips in any flavour ;)

They were officially launched at the first major Mini event I attended way back in August 1979.............

Bizarrely, I was there at that Donnington as a 12 year old ( remember meeting  Peter Shilton), so it's quite nice to come full circle with it all.

Beautiful mini!
Always one of my favorites when Oltonlad had it, even more now :-)
