I also hope to get some of the chrome blacked out, I also want the darker style headlamps. Would look sweet as anything.

It turns out the waste gate is getting stuck open, causing too much boost. Also the seals on the turbo for the oil are going, so I'm going to get it reconditioned to save any real headaches in the future.

Rude not to share a photo of my old Cooper D Clubby.

Anyway. Love your Clubby. Is all now sorted with it? As previously said the N18 is a very strong engine, but does need a nice healthy oil level.

Love the clubby, and I think the grey countryman is pretty smart to be honest. :)

It's a Cooper SD with the JCW pack. The others are standard Cooper SD.

The mini is in the garage, it has had its turbo and wastegate removed. They are being re machined due to the sheer volume of carbon build up stopping both from fucntioning correctly.
Hopefully Marvin will be returned to me early next week :D

Been to the garage today, Garrett have sent the turbo back. It arrived yesterday however, it didn't come back with the gaskets!? Anyway the garage have ordered them and they arrived today so hopefully I will have a conclusion to the saga tomorrow ... Or Friday. Haha

Right, I have not got my car back. The turbo has been machined and rebuilt. The wastegate has been machine and had new gaskets. The mechanics test drove it today and it is still throwing up the engine light with the same code. They are looking into the MAP sensors but I'm beginning to lose my patience with the car. Not the mechanics, they're good.

What garage are doing it ? A MINI Specialist?

Try ringing  lohen and ask for Chris Henderson.

They know all there is to know about these cars

Its a landy specialist.

SUCCESS. Touch wood.

When the garage put the turbo and wastegate back on the actuator, that opens the wastegate, needs to be 'reset'. This is the first time the garage have come across it and they called BMW who showed them the way.

I could have told them about it if I'd of realised that was the issue as I did read up about it.

I have given in a good run and put it in the situations where the fault came up and there has been nothing!

AND it bloody flies :D

Has it had a de-coke to get rid of the carbon build up on the valves?

Clubby's are cool cars, they've got a surprising amount of leg room in the back too especially when compared to a hatch :)

not yet, I'm probably going to save up for it, get it walnut blasted but we will see. For now it is running sweet as a walnut :P
yeah the back space is good, my mums partner is a tallster and fits in just fine. Boot could be a smidge bigger but its cool!
