Thats the aim Talked to a few who have done the conversion, albeit with a standard 16v engine, and I should be looking at around 5 - 5.5 seconds to 60 in mine as it is XN (very basic) spec, and the standard 16v's do it in around 6.5 seconds - cant wait!
Engine and beam are all palleted up ready for collection:

The standard 120bhp 16v from a Saxo VTS or 106 GTI in a car of similar weight to mine (poverty spec) - Im just estimating my 0-60 time based on the extra 30bhp I have :)

Ive been in a couple that have had mild mods done (tubular manifolds, induction kits etc) that have hit 60 in between 6 and 7 seconds - my Mini does it in 12.5! My car will be lighter and have a good percent more power so I reckon under 6 seconds is achievable.

My little 1.1 with 200,000 miles goes very well! That too is poverty spec Zest model

To be fair, the 1.1 is quite nippy - On 133000 miles and still feels like new, French cars get a lot of stick they dont deserve! Also found out today after a bit of research that, by pure luck, the engine loom coming with my 16v engine is the correct early S2 twin plug loom that is plug and play compatible with my current loom! So no splicing or loom changing needed, which has made my day - really wasn't looking forward to putting a whole new interior loom in.

I never lift the bonnet on mine except to top up the washer fluid, i never clean it and it gets some stick but just keeps going.
All i had to do for the MOT this time was adjust handbrake, fix battery clamp and weld a few holes up in the crusty old exhaust centre section

5 seconds to 60 is a tad optimistic but it will be great fun to drive
What brakes are you fitting to need 15s? I wouldn't fit GTi6 brakes personally (too heavy and unnecessary). Fit some smaller brakes and then you can get 14" steelies on.

then you can get 14" steelies on.
And defiantly some Peugeot hubcaps to keep the sleeper look ;)

Look forward to seeing this sometime Vic, might make a trip up north!
All I'll say is: make sure you get some good tyres on those steels.

Yes mate, will be good to see if it keeps up with your Mini Im off to Hull for a week in early December in this :)
Helped a mate today with his 106 Quicksilver - Im having the front struts off it which have GTI brakes and Spax 60mm lowering springs - the rear beam is already lowered by 60mm so thats that sorted - so easy to work on, rear beam, both front struts and exhaust done in 1h 50min! Cant wait to get this on the road

100 odd bhp mini versus 140 odd bhp 106, would be an interesting race ;)
Crack on mate, at this rate you'll have it done by monday!
