Just to add. Is there any way of tracing a owner from the car details?

You used to able to contact DVLA and for a fee they could give you a list of the owners past and present. Provided that you had a valid reason. Not sure if that still is available though.

£5 fee for information about a vehicle that was previously registered, or is registered in your name:-

V888 - request by an individual for information about a vehicle

The V888 application form is for people who want to apply for information about a specific vehicle from DVLA. They need to show ‘reasonable cause’ for wanting this information released from DVLA records. This means they will have to provide details of why they want the information and how it will be used.

Trouble is i guess i dont really have a good enough reason to get information. Im just curious as to what happened to it. Im guessing its sat up somewhere as its not been scrapped. I bet its rottern now! As i said earlyer i remember it getting crashed in a local supermarket carpark. I recall getting sent a picture of a brick wall with a perfect imprint of a mini perfectly visable in it

Yeh me to but not sure if I should give details out, I recognised the reg straight away.

I'm still looking for my 1275GT that I had when I was 14, never been taxed or m.o.t since I sold it 10 years ago I can only imagine it's in a barn somewhere, it's was the most solid mini I've seen.
Reg was GNM725T 1979 Austin Morris mini clubman 1275GT would love to find it and buy it back but I'm scared I wouldn't be able to afford it.

Is it possible to do a search using chassis number in order to locate a car? Our sportspack cooper went to Jersey and was re registered, never able to find out a anything about where it ended up.

You don't even get the previous registered owners details listed on new log books.
