No.
It was a bunch of old argie bargie squaddies that wanted to have a winge and a moan because to this day they still won't have it that the Falklands are ours! The majority of the people on the island want to be British rather than Argies.
I don't see why so many people hate everything that Clarkson says or does. He just says stuff that a lot of people are thinking.
If you don't like, don't watch it!

None of them are ever going to admit to this.
It could be that someone happened upon the car, saw the plate and realised how it could be interpreted and then decided to go to Argentina for the show. We may never know. As for using the DPA as a defence that they couldn't possibly have found the car, well I don't believe that for a second either. A word with the right person, a fan of Top Gear on the phone, easily done.

I don't see the big thing with it all. Did anybody get hurt by these number plates?
No.

That therein is the problem. People came close to being hurt - the crew, the presenters etc are the obvious ones. There could have been isolated attacks on Brits in the country as well, but any small groups with particularly strong feelings towards it.
It doesn't matter who you are, you shouldn't make jokes about conflicts. Like I said before, if a foreign TV crew had a plate in Britain making reference to WW1,WW2, 7/7, something like that, thousands of people would be having the same reaction.
I don't hate everything that Clarkson says or does. I used to quite enjoy Top Gear. But now, for the most part, he is an idiot. He will say the odd funny thing but thats about it.
Its a sad reflection of society that things this man say are held in high regard, apparently.

Agreed,
Whatever the rights 'n wrongs of the conflict people died, within living memory for their relatives & comrades too.
