The car behind the Mini is an Austin A40 Devon Saloon (1947 - 1952)

Hi Zeemax from another Reading-ite!

My folks live in Somerset so I'm there a fair bit. Let me know if I can help.

Cheers,
Steve

Actually I think I can see a rear window so it's not a pick up, nice numberplate too.

Mk1 Forum suggest it is a 63/64 Minivan with rear side window conversion.

Is that a white v w beetle next to it? Seriously before they go for scrap which is roughly what nowadays £120? You should take picks and see of anyone wants them and ask bit.more, I'd happily have room to buy a couple like everyone else on here just to save them from the scrap! X

Every car in there needs to be saved from scrap unless they are so bad it's not worth saving. That was someone's lifetime collection. It may be a shame to break the collection up but it's much better than scrapping them all. I don't really have too much space but believe me I will try if I get a chance for a nice mk1 or a van!

Keep us posted.

I spoke to my uncle last night.  The Deven is owned by a local.  It has never had its tax lapsed

So the Mk1 apparently is a saloon, someone has just changed the grill.  I have got dibs on that. but hetre are some other finds

there are a lot of siera's there, that were going to be scrapped.  I did mention they are very sort after for Kit cars, so that might be on hold.  Some very old daimlers wrapped in tarps, Jags, a few metros, and lots of crappy rovers from the 90s
