Hi
How much was skimmed from the head I've known of issues with mpi engines when they have had their heads skimmed. As the timing is fixed the engine hits top dead centre earlier and fires later thus causing rough running.

Chris

I'm not sure that skimming the head will have an effect on TDC.

it could increase the compression ratio though

Any joy with this yet?

You're definitely running rich with a lambda of 0.83, often down to faulty temp sensors so if your going to start swapping start with them, coolant sensor is too cheap not to. Does the TPS ever register as open when you have the code reader plugged in and giving the throttle a blip? is the purge valve ever closed? O2 sensor would also be high as a likely suspect.

Good luck.

I've stalled on the checks for a little while until I go to the scrap yard and pickup some spare sensors.

The coolant temp sensor is new and I've tried 3 different tps sensors although I'm still going to get another.

The tps does register as open when revved. The purge valve is closed until the engine gets warm.

Old thread but I am having the same issues, did you ever solve your problem?? If so what did it?

Cheers

Best to start a new thread, there are many possible causes for these type of issues.
