I think I would seriously consider the SAC too. I think overall it would work out cheaper over the course of the new few years, declaring your speeding fine on your insurance. Plus, you then know you have a totally clean, earned license.


Many insurers ignore the first 3 points, and you have to declare having been on an SAC in many cases now too. It's more efficient to use your chance of an SAC after you already have 3 points.

I have recently been pinged for speeding as well. I was in a hire car from work, and just didn't see the speed camera. 

 

I got the option of the SAC as well so I have just booked myself on that. They are even flexible about where you take it as well. I was caught in Warwickshire but the course is being done in Bedfordshire. 

 

I thought if you already had points for speeding, they wouldn't offer you the SAC course?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I think you basically always get offered one for SP30 unless you make a habit of acquiring them.
