Just out of interest, what kind of top speeds do you guys get up to? and what sort of revs?

i was doing about 90km/h at just over 3000 revs in 4th. was wondering if this is normal or not?

All depends on your final drive and such, I couldn't tell you how reliable my speedometer is but I have had it past 90 on the clock at around 4700 revs in 4th. (Standard 998, with a stage1, a steep decline and the wind behind me)

Please remember folks this is a public forum and obviously any speeds over the national limit must have been done on a private road or track. Also due to the variations in speedo calibration what you see indicated maybe 10% or more over reading than what you think.

Something with GPS will give you a more accurate indication as to your cars true top speed.

After fitting a seperate rev counter last week, asked the same question:

took my SAT NAV with me and 90km/h (56mph) on the clock was 80km/h (50mph) - so indeed Admin. 10% spot on.

by the way. 90km/h @ 3000 in 4th - no idea of final drive - but gives you an idea.

on another note, here in Belgium we're 5mph higher @ 75mph speed limit (120km/h)

I get to 110km/h (68mph) and things start getting noisy - can I really expect in excess of 75mph from my std. 998??

90? I take it, that is km/h? I see you're in the UK, surely it's not 90mph? Convert that to km/h and you get 144!! I only get that on eurotunnel!

That is so in the UK but not here Sonik :D A white sign with a black slash means no speed limits here :P   I eeked 83.25 mph out of my 1293 t'other day, it was blurdey scarey on the dodgy, tram-lined Manx roads though, won't be going back there anytime soon  :xxx:

No that's mph. 90 is the max without her sounding like she's gonna fall to pieces

195mph with a bored out and stuff done to 998, not sure what rpm as don't have a rev counter but the rev limiter is set to 5700 and it didn't even hit it.
