Ah, I get you. My car is a clubby so not *such* an issue. I like the transverse idea.

yep clubby - lot more room

 

transverse would be more compact

 

pity the beta engines are a bit wide - 2.0l twin cam would be a load of fun in a light mini

Beta engine will be more 'available'....  I'll run that idea past the guru, I'm positive he'll have  a couple of Beta engines lying around to measure up... :P

Its unfortunate, I know there was a guy not too far from where I work had a lancia fulvia v4 1.3 just sitting but he went into hospital before I could approach him to buy it, now driving past his house I see he has done a clear out and everything scrapped and not to the local scrappy either :(
