Will it fit a 1400cc from a k11 Micra? If so I may be interested got some spare subframes as px too

I'm pretty sure the engine a box are still the same size and mounts but I will double check.

As I said the cga3 is the same as the cg13. People refer to it as a 1.4 but its actually 1348cc so technically still a 1.3

True, logistics may be an issue. Well jopefully i'll be in the traders section soon so you can keep an eye out there.

if this gets off the ground i can put you in touch with a mate of mine, i sort most of my pallet deliveries through him, he's on the wirral as well.

also have you spoken to bailey and morris about making shafts?

That would be great mate :)

Not poke to them yet, have bought stuff for my landy off them in the past and been more than happy with their work. Will get intough with them when i know the lengths the shafts are going to be after the frame jig is built so every frame is exatly the same ;)

This would be good. No bodywork chopping would essentially make it a bolt on mod. Looking forward to hearing more.

I will be keeping as much of the original frame as possible an using 1" box section where needed and 3mm plate for the engine mount plates.

You probably want something thicker for the engine mounts ( depending on design) think I used 6mm on mine.

personally i'd be looking at getting a jig made and making the whole thing up from scratch, possibly round tube rather than box section?

if you're working with an old subframe you'll be surprised how many of them are out of shape.

I've got a jig but making a new one, if i do buil from scratch i'll still use the towers due to cost and time fabricating from scratch. Building these frames to keep the cost down for people. Will have a think about the round tube if i can myhands on a pipe bender.

Interesting little thread and I hope that your idea becomes a reality. I have been interested in an engine conversion for a while but don't have the skills to make my own or the cAsh to afford many of the options currently available. I guess there are potentially a lot of people in a similar position to myself. I have enough skills and tools to do bolt on mods (hopefully) so chalk me down as another interested party.

Thinking out loud here, I wonder how many 1.3 Micra engines or complete cars there out there ? there are plenty of 1.0 cars about, I suppose there will be enough out there still to meet the very limited demand from Mini owners. The youngest donors are now 12 to 13 years old, and the oldest 22 years old.
