The other engine transplant use engines from the same period. The ford ecoboost will be the one I want to try next but at the moment they are still relatively new and the prices high.

I know its very early days, but what price do you envisage the subframe and other bits to be? Like some other mini owners, I cannot weld so a kit with all the supplied items for a straight bolt in job would be great for me (obviously without the actual engine, ECU etc). I have been looking to do this conversion for ages as I would love a good reliable injection engine so I can use my mini as an everyday car.

There's plenty out there they just cost a fair bit more than the 1.0

Ford ecoboost would be a top donor! Easy 150bhp from a 1.0 sounds awesome in a Mini, if only subframe kits were available for them!

I'm looking at doing subframe, drive shafts, servo relocation bracket amd possibly alternator brack (if it need moving), price will be £500-£600 for the kit dependant on what it costs me to do. A deffeinate price will be decided once frame is finalized, stress tested and reviewed by a few select TMF+ members.

Might well be interested in a single bolt frame for my mk4 so if you do an initial run, could be interested.
