Hey..

I have been following this story for the past few days.

http://www.bbc.co.uk...pshire-30670746

Here is the latest news on it

http://www.islandech...est-information

And

http://www.dailymail...says-owner.html

I wonder if they will be able to save the cars on board? They have plans to re-float it but bad weather is on it's way..

Thoughts??

they are attempting to re float it tomorrow, apparently the list was caused by an excavator becoming loose

Hi Ben,

We've been following this too. Went down to Meon shore on Sunday afternoon to have a look!

According to the local news all around the Calshot area was chokka, so we didn't bother trying to get over that side for a look!!!

I think Red Funnel are doing very well out if this, all the ferries were heaving going backwards and forwards between Southampton and the Island.

I heard on Wave 105 news and saw in the Echo that they were planning to re-float it as early as tomorrow.....wouldn't like to be in charge of the salvage operation!!!

Cheers, Steve.

Perhaps some lucky people will find a washed up JCB .

I read that it could take weeks to salvage it.

I keep thinking about driving up to Cowes and have a look but i keep deciding against it as i bet it's very busy up there.

I'm keeping an eye on the news for any footage of the cargo.

In a flat calm channel ?, another ripping yarn doing the rounds was a malfunction in the automated ballast pumps was to blame

I'm keeping a bit of an eye on this as I lived in So'ton for around 14 years, including fairly nearby in Holbury. Love Southmpton and would love to travel down to see it, but the car is getting worked on. :(

I thought I read somewhere that there was a electrical problem with the pumps that distribute the water ballast in the ballast tanks. Sounds like something has gone wrong with the control systems putting too much ballast on one side

Has it leant any more? Might just be the photos there, but looks like its over more than it was initially.

I wonder what cars are on there (obviously its not just whats on the BBC page)

I bet.there's a lot of damage to the cars on there.

I once saw an Audi A3 which had come loose on the ship. It wasn't pretty

We were discussing that earlier here:

http://www.theminifo...38-hoegh-osaka/

Plans for tomorrow are to re-float it but it all depends on the weather i guess...
