Yes its the kit for a 45D Distributor if you have that Distributor

Compressions all good no big diferences

Coil should read 3.5ohms +/-

If you order a new coil get the MSC 105 Gold Sports Coil made by Intermotor from Minispares they dropped the Lucas DLB 105 due to high  failure rates.

I would once you get it running convert to electronic for less than £30

I ordered a coil through local motorfactors, Intermotor coil part number 11105 which should be unballast sports coil if my searching was correct?

going to order new cap and rotor arm as well as I had to sand it down to get a clean surface so Im guessing the increase in gap within the cap could affect things?

Yes less gap between rotor tip and cap segments is better

Replaced condensor and points and fired right away... coil must be fine still :-)

Both the condensor wire and coil earth wire just fell off the connector on the old points spring / arm... guessing this was the main problem.

Thanks for help will convert to electronic now

Oh my timing since fitting new points has changed to 0 deg at 1000rpm... is iy normal for timing to change when renewing points?

A small change in timing when fitting new points is not uncommon.  10 degree is a big shift though.  Regardless, set the timing back where it needs to be and enjoy some driving.

I have suggested a move to electronic ignition due to what appears to be some wear in the distributor shaft bearing in Steves other post
