Looking good man. I am in nyc, and hoping to get nine on the road soon. Maybe I'll see you around

Thanks! That would be great! I'm out on Long Island. Picked my car up in Brooklyn in jan. Love going to shows and cruise nights.

Looks great! What sort of reception does the classic mini get in the states?

The reception is unbelievable when your driving these classic minis around. There's only a handful around locally and most only drive them to a show here and there. I've been driving her for maybe 2 weeks total over the past 2 months and the amount of pictures and thumbs up per 20 min drive is incredible. Lol. Had a crowd around it when I stopped for milk the other day on my way home from work!

I get the same thing here in Naples.  I just assume they are mostly car thieves cataloging for a later swipe!

Is the colour code not shown in the TMF's Mini colour guide thread?

It looks like the insertion tang off a helicoil insert. Most likely the sump plug has been helicoiled and this has ended up in the sump instead of being removed when the helicoil was inserted.

Now that it's out there's nothing to worry about, the magnet on the sump plug has done it's job.

Does anyone have a spare 10x3.5 or 10x4.5 stock wheel laying around in bad condition? Maybe state side? Please pm me. I'll put an add in he wanted section as well.
Want to test fit for clearance and to know what wheels to buy. I'm thinking old English white with the chome dish for a classic look but don't want to waste money if I get the wrong size.
Thanks.

Just plastic dipped my grill. Wanted to see if I like the black look. I'm on the fence with this one....
