Well I've got a 1997 Mini Mayfair - Japanese Import

I recently had leaks at the back of the car thanks to the my rear windscreen seals finally packing up. So I decided to get new seals and a new heated rear windscreen as the previous one I had only had two demister lines working and a few cracks. So I replaced the seal and the window but the demister only has two lines that work again..... I've checked the fuse box and theres nothing wrong there so I have no idea where I should look next to sort it.

Any advice welcome.

Likely the lines will have "gaps" in them. you can buy "special paint" and fill in the gaps.

I have the same issue, the paint is pretty expensive ( i think around 18 pounds). Also i dont think it will be neat,  so i might just get a new screen.

oh…. i didnt see it was a new screen. If you look close at the lines from the inside, you can see if there might breaks in it.

I'll take a look tomorrow and see otherwise I'll have to just live with it.

Yes there is no way this could be caused by the wiring in the car. And no you don't just have to live with it, send the screen back. Of course they may claim you scratched it when fitting it but if you know you didn't then stand your ground.

Well I called the company today and they said they'll send out a man to come check it next week so hopefully I get lucky!

Dallas, try this on your old screen: http://www.ebay.co.u...87935196&_rdc=1

Just make sure the inside of the car is nice and warm before applying it to the broken strips.
