Really. Never new Phil Hepworth built them.

When my metro came to me in 2005 it had a Phil Hepworth engine. 1380. N/a. Cracking engine. Never failed me. Never missed a beat.
It's now in Spain. In a mini. Still going.

Yeah he's a nice guy. He later owned a company in Warrington called Racespec. When he closed the business, I managed to buy a Group A spec short motor (Carrillo rods, forged pistons etc). I made sure to pick his brain while I had the chance.

Yeah the engine build sheet was race spec.

We're is the group A unit now.

What crank did it use. And drops.

In my car. I didn't buy any gears from him, so I'm not sure what make they used, though they were SC.

What crank did they use.
Was it a en40b special or was it a modded road crank.

Did the block have cut outs for a special head gasket.
Did it have a main strap.

We're the big ends 1.75 or cooper s????

This one here.

Sorry, if this is the car I'm thinking it is it doesn't qualify in this thread.

It's been measured to be outside the 200 BHP Bracket.

Apparently this was measuered to be one of the fastest a series engines ever at over 320 bhp... and with the size of the turbo strapped to the back of it. This would not surprise me. Its an incredible engine.

I cant remember off the top of my head about the crank, I have it all written down somewhere, but it was probably about 10+ years ago I got the bits off him.
The block is modified for the Group A gasket, is 1293 with Mahle forged pistons, Carrillo rods, under crown oil jets and a 4 bolt main strap.

But hasn't it been said it couldn't be done?

(I know it could / has been)

I think I first read about it 2 or 3 years ago, old news now!

Great info. Cheers for correcting me, i was just stating what the fella at spec componants said lol.

I have a k series going in my 1330 and i should exspect about 120 as a standard none sport head apparently. Will be good to see what it is exactly.
