yeahi know what you mean about the price, but ive got mine tinted aswell!

anyway just been looking in my SC parts catalouge and the sell alluminium skins for mk3 doors.

Sun Bleached, weather beanten paint (not rusty) roof rack, with a "fake" surfboard, (have an idea to turn it into a storage box) I'll do this by doing all the prep, but only putting on a thin coat of paint, and rub it back a little toooooo much.... so letting some of the "white" primer come thou...

id go for a real paint job, and the surf board will slow you down on the strip!

Wouldn't it be a shame if you get a proper paint job and then scratch it in town...or get stone chips all over it! You know what Hereford's like!

But it's not gonna be a proper rat stylie...? more of an "urban" rough look?

If i was restoring a car as much as this, i wouldnt want it too look "rat". You might aswell have just bought a solid but tatty mini in the 1st place.

You know you want a nice paint job and you can keep it nice easily.

- Good wax and sealent
- Claying to remove particles
- Special wash routine to avoid swirling,particle scratching and such
- Common sense - dont park next to a person with kiddies seats in the car, so they will just open the door into yours! Doh.
- Park somewhere you know and under camera

Plus if you paint it yourself, you will be able to fix any problems easily enough

Hey Mart, they even put the roofrack on a car with the exhaust hanging off so you could get a real good idea of what yours would look like!
