Its the first one I really got stuck into, so far I am enjoying how a simple cut the old out, and reapir with new job is going!Nice one. Glad your having a go. If it's your first one you may even enjoy it! I did.
Still got some right basturd jobs yet to do, but once the boot is done, its onto the sills

Few new toys arrived today!!
My new retro rear lights...

pair of rebuilt HIF4 carbs...

And my lovely mum, made me a workers sarnie today!!

Wish she was that kinda everyday lol
Nothing is going to happen tomorrow, getting a Mini25 for Bean... so thats my day used up.
I hope to actully get the welder out on Wednesday, and hopefully get the boot finished

On another note, does anyone know if I can get new rear subframes from MITP?

i cant belive some people fill rust hole up with filler! looks like your doing a good job there, loving the retro lights too.
good luck all ya welding, i should be starting my sills this week, will try and get some pictures of all the rust holes in my car to make you feel better!

Ok, done a quick go over with a wire brush, just to clear any surface rust that might of been done in last nights storm...
First go with this welder, its one of then clarke gasless ones, so its new to me as I am used to a gas one.
But heres the orginal "bead" few holes that I burt though




This is after another go with the welder, just to smooth bits out, and to fill my burn holes.
Sparyed some rust proofing down, then a coat of matt black. Personally, I am happy with what I have managed to do today


Oh this is where I just wanted to use up the rest of the spray can, and wanted to know what my lights would look like up agaist the matt black.... Sweet as, but I think I have a better colour in mind

welding sould be a continious seam to be up to MOT standard or you are patching not replacing panels!GOT THE WELDER

not critersizing your welding just giving friendly advise!as an mot tester!Patching the boot is patching... and I know it doesn't look it in the pics, but it is a constant stream!

Its the first time I've welded with a gasless welder... its not as easy as it is with a gas welder...

Its stuck enough for it to break in a different place other then on the weld... so my penitration is good
