Absolutely Mike,

As your say the instructions come with the fob

For obvious reasons we perhaphs want to keep the detail procedure off public forums.

I will certainly help OP further once he finds the right FOB.

Here is the catch though, the only people who sell a new single button fob are the ones who say I need to send the box in to them, they only charge half price for the second fob so it looks like the best way is to send then my box which will confirm that it's not faulty too before forking out for a fob if I do spot a good used one won't it? I'm going on holiday fairly soon so sending it away and having it returned a few days later tested and with a pair of brand new fobs looks worthwhile I think?

Thanks for the input so far though folks :-)

OK

Just managed to dig this out

Compare the price you have been quoted against this. I can personnally vouch for this supplier. I bought a single fob from them and then used the on vehicle method to program it to the alarm. Give them a ring. They certainly know all about the 3AS

Might be a gamble but the picture of the original single button key fob looks mighty like the Land Rover fobs on EBAY

Haha that's the same people!

I think I've discovered something, it looks like I can indeed just purchase the fobs and code them myself, the box that requires sending in might be the early 5as on cars without the programming socket, I'll ring them, thanks again.

I've just ordered a new fob £65 with the postage, hopefully my box works!

If anyone does have a spare 3as box with or without fobs I'd still be interested,ta.

Problem solved, followed the instructions with the new fob and bingo alarm and immobiliser fully functioning! If I'd known it would work I'd have bought the second one as they are half the price when bought as a pair. I can at least look for a spare fob on here or ebay now I know the system works.

I now know how to code the fobs for the 3AS module, I will give the info out via pm at my discretion if they find this via a google search for example.
