My bed Would be the steering rack - have just had a simular problem, a new steering rack made it for me. It was Like a new car.

It could be but that would be easy to feel and the OP says hes checked?
It should be easy to feel that but with mine it was not, only until it got so bad as if the suspension is going to fall apart did it become evident. For his sake I hope it is not, there are easier jobs than doing a rack.
