It does require the use of some special kit and software, sorry I should have explained that. I have the kit here and can do it if you wish.  But let the unit timeout first and check that you have the correct code.

Hello,

I have a Mini Mayfair 1991 and I have a very frustrating problem with the radio which is a Philips R570.

I know the code for it, but unfortunately I accidentally inserted it wrong. Now the display only shows "CODE" and won't let me re-insert it because it has frozen.

Does anyone know how I can fix the "CODE" problem and get my radio working?

Thank you,

Anthony Alongi

From memory I *think* the time period between failed attempts increases each time you incorrectly enter the code.  So if you leave the radio powered up for a while you should be able to have another go at entering the code.

Failing that there are services which can recover the codes for a modest sum advertised on Ebay, Rover Owners club etc.

Phil.

As above.  However, be aware that if you enter the code incorrectly more than ten times the radio will be locked forever. If the code does not work the next time you put it in, then the correct code can be found.

As an aside it is possible to manually change these codes.  I have done a few, so don't automatically assume that the code on the card has to be correct.

Could you kindly explain to me how the codes can be changed manually?
