Thanks for your pics I had inspected inside the box section before welding over the hole mine seems solid inside only a minor bit of surface rust which was cleaned and painted to protect for the future.

It must be through both layers though

Its only rusted the inner wing not the bulkhead behind. this car has been a bit odd every bolt beside one on the rear subframe has come out no hassle and the rear end needs a small repair to the boot floor concidering it sat 7years with no cover its done well

Small progress is still better than no progress. it will soon come along and be finished. At least the whole floor isn't shot and you can make some easy enough repairs

Yeah welding in the rain isn't fun I have done it before and it was probably a really really stupid idea haha

Today i was on a course for work re newing my cherry picker licence (in the rain 5 hours not good) and turns out I didn't do any welding tonight as it was hammering down so instead re furbed the steering rack need to get new track rod ends but kept on there for now I removed all grime and old paint and gators(dust) then cleaned it up new rubbers all greased up and fitted bare metal I used hammer rite with a rag as you can wipe on and off and it leaves a nice finish Instead of brushing it on.
