Picked up the micra that I'm using for the conversion yesterday and today got the interior stripped out and the loom labelled and removed. The interior loom anyways! Hopefully on the weekend I can start removing the engine which should be fun. Looking forward (and not) to getting the mini stripped and ready to work on! Watch this space for updates and such :-)

Quite easy. Make sure to label all wires when removing them etc etc but removal of everything is easy. Engine removal looks easy too as there's plenty of space in the engine bay to work :-) Good luck on yours!

Engine and gearbox finally out. All the loom has been removed and any other parts we may need. Everything has been labelled and put away neatly. Next course of action is to strip the mini down and get the subframe ready for modification.

Made a jig to hold the subframe. It attaches to all the important parts like front and rear mounting points and top mounting points, also supports the towers so when parts where cut out nothing moves out of place. So far it's worked fantastically as a heap of metal has been removed. Some still has to come out for the engine to fit nicely. We had it sat in the frame on a stand we made but its still a bit close.

Everything clears and the frame holding the subframe has done it's job as nothings moved! A good but more has been done but I haven't managed to take pictures yet :-)

So I've been told that work has started on the inlet manifold from fusionfab... can't describe how excited I am... and hopefully tomorrow if all goes according to plan ill be able to have a nice test fit of the engine :D already tested the subframe and everything lines up beautifully. Very exciting stuff!!!

I'm not 100% sure mate I'll measure up tomorrow and let you know. It is definitely wider but I'm not sure by hoe much. :-)

Had a test fit on the subframe and engine today and fits great... had no real issues. Bit of moving back and forth to get it in but pretty easy... Shame it can't stay there

Ok. Got the mini loom stripped down to bare minimum, all lights work off original gear etc etc... started stripping off stuff from the micra loom which is a longer process... It looks a bit hectic in the shed. All that being said it's easier than first thought... so anyone daunted by the process don't be... its only hard because it can be rather overwhelming... Hoping to have a test fire at the end of the week but not raising my hopes just yet.
