Ok loom is probably 90% done. And it works... Thankfully.... and it started for the first time!!

As stated in the video there's no exhaust on it and it runs a bit rough because the vacuum lines aren't connected properly but the main thing is our loom works!!!

Not a lot at all... pretty much just the bare minimum to get it to run. But I had a non-Nats micra which made things a lot easier.

I bought a 1994 one myself. Not 100% sure when they introduced it. I'd keep 1996 and below of possible although nats isn't impossible to work around :-)

As far as I'm aware NATS 1 can be bypassed but NATS 2 can not, well not easily anyway. Not sure what year the different systems got introduced but I've got a 98 micra which has got NATS 2

cheers lads, will try and find one as early as possible. What sort of mileages have the engines got that you both are putting in? Are you rebulding them prior to dropping them in or your not really bothered about that?

Mine had 70k is I think but it runs so sweet and quiet. They really are great engines. I won't bother recycling. I'll do some new gaskets but that's about it really :-)

Ok so have an exhaust manifold made up and fits in well its not the prettiest of sights and probably doesn't have the best flow (still probably better than the standard) but it will get the car on the road long enough for me to save and get longlife to make one for me out of stainless. Cooling probably the next job... still lots to do. Also got the throttle cable mounted so it works of the mini cable which makes things easier. Clutch cable will have to wait until engine is back out at its in the way. Hoping to have all this done so I can make the trip to japfest next year... also may start future proofing for a turbo... 😉

As I said not the best looking but it will get the car quiet until I can get one done by the local longlife. I'll get a picture of the throttle setup once its back on.

So there's the full manifold. Lines up really nice at the bottom and have found a good place for the lambda. Just waiting on v-band clamps to finish it off.
