Hi guys

on my 77 mini (which I'm pretty sure came with the centre dash layout) the previous owner has botched a conversion to the 3 dials on the side, which I like, but the wiring hasn't really been done.. err.. at all? All the wires are everywhere and I don't know what does what.

Has anyone converted one before or does anyone know where I can find the wiring diagrams I need to wire it all back up.

I'm saying this mainly as my battery light doesn't work and thats probably why my battery doesn't charge :(

Help guys?

Cheers!!

Have you tried the Haynes manual?

Yep, the Haynes has everything you need really. Dash wiring is pretty simple, it's really just a case of matching colours to functions.

If you're repairing someone's bodge, don't re-bodge it. If you had any plans to use choc-blocks or scotch-locks, forget it now - go buy a soldering iron and some shrinkwrap.

I'm saying this mainly as my battery light doesn't work and thats probably why my battery doesn't charge :(

If the bulb has gone or the dicky wiring has disconnected it this is likely true.

Give me a shout and I'll make you something to make everything work and for you to patch into your car safely.

I can even supply heathshrink tubes with solder inside so all you do is warm them up - the solder melts and it also makes a watertight seal. Easy especially if you aren't keen on soldering etc.
