Hi all,
Right this is an unusual one. ill try to explain the best I can.
Recently brought a mini as a project, seems pretty solid and in fairly good condition. Brought mainly for the parts 1380 engine J. Anyway point is I decided to hpi the car and it turns out that it is a cat B write off…………..SH*T
After doing some more digging into the history I found out the below
- Car was wrote off in 1999 as a cat B
- Car was then back on the road 2004 taxed mot’d insured….. how?
- I have since been issued a V5C log book, surely this would not happen if the car was a cat B.
Phoned the DVLA and they said they have no record of the accident and the car is ok to return to the road, hence the log book
Then phoned HPI and they informed me that the car is a cat B and cant go back on the road.
Then phoned my insurance to see if I could insure it and they said no.
Question now is what do I do? i don’t want to put any money or time into the car if I cant legaly drive it…..
HELP……
