I managed to tap with a 3/8" UNF.  Used old head stud and pulled out using a socket and washer. Cleaned up and then drifted in the NOS Block making sure it went past the 2nd visible oil way hole.  Will see once its fired up if its done the trick,

They have a thread in already, I,m sure I screwed in an old alternator bolt, and pulled it out with a slide hammer. Came out relatively easy. Make sure you put it back in the same way as both end,s have a slightly different profile.

I Googled the part number and this came up near the bottom of the first page. Can't seem to find it on an ebay search either! The listing says he won't ship to the UK, I suppose that's why. However I'm sure that you could offer extra money and ask him to...

Not all the 2A797 seats were threaded. The cross drilled seat for the automatic appears to have always been, however.
As per Dusky's advice, be prepared to tap a thread in it and pull it out.
I got a new 2A797 from Minispares which wasn't threaded either, but I see they're out of stock again. I have a machining drawing somewhere if you need a local machine shop to turn one.

35 Euros is a bit steep.  Will try and remove the old on with a tap.   If not may have to email him and see if he will ship.

Problem is Gazza, Somerford are sold out as well as Minispares. The ebay link seems to be the only place to find one that's in stock.

Mini Mail lists them. http://www.minimail.co.uk/parts/

Give Tim Harbor the owner, a call, it's the sort of thing he has stashed away. £3 each

Tel:  01989 720 111  /  07000 850 1275 (alternative easy-to-remember number. Not another line)
