This is what we ended up doing to my lads car after i replaced bloody everything. The nut on the Heritage panel came off and i had to do this to get access to it so we could fit another nut.

Can i make a hole just where you made yours in your mates car and hold the nuts in place with something without having to weld anything back together? I was thinking i spot weld two nuts on a piece of thick metal and just slide this piece in that hole. Would the whole weaken the car a lot? It will just have to be wide enough for the nuts and metal bit to slide in

But yeah that would still mean that if there is no mounting bracket, i am attaching the subframe to a plain piece of metal.... now i get what you mean

first get the crap of the outside where the subframe should be. then you may have an idea as to what you need to do.
as to sliding a piece of metal with some nuts welded on. see above. but if the old parts are still there then they will need removing first. and the slinging nut brackets may cause problems.

Thats it exactly, the mounting bracket is there for a reason and just welding a nut to the back of the heelboard panel will work it will not be as strong. So just cut a small section of the outer sill off, if you use a slitting disc and do it carefully you can reuse it. That way you will see exactly what you are dealing with.
It needs to right and not bodged after all its a subframe mount not some mickey mouse bracket. ITS IMPORTANT!!!!!

Why don't you ring up the seller and ask what they did before you start cutting and grinding?

That was by mistake haha and i tried to delete it but it didnt let me so i just left a full stop haha. The nuts are there. Felt them with a piece of wire. So i will have to drill holes to access them.
